Vintage Maritime Compass Lantern – Rare Ship’s Lamp with Curved Glass (ca. 1930s)

This is a rare vintage ship’s lamp, also known as a compass lantern, featuring an unusually elegant shape. Unlike most models—which are typically cylindrical—this lantern is fitted with a curved glass window, making it a standout piece for collectors and enthusiasts.

Please note:

• The burner is not original.
• The current burner comes from a miner’s lamp and does not fit perfectly.
• Because the flame rises too high, this lantern is best used for decorative purposes, unless you have the proper original burner.

Compass lamps were traditionally mounted on a ship’s compass housing to illuminate the compass during nighttime navigation. This piece was used aboard a vessel; while the exact age is unknown, it is likely from the 1930s.

• The closure latch is missing but the lamp still closes securely.
• Comes with two small handles at the back.
• The chimney sits slightly askew.
